David Sauter - Faculty, Landscape Architect

David Sauter comes to Foothill College from Iowa, with over twenty years experience in the green industry. His work as a landscape architect ranged from large-scale parks and redevelopment projects to agricultural interpretive centers to residential design. He taught Horticulture for 10 years at Kirkwood Community College, then went on to become their Dean of Business for 2 years before coming to Foothill. His educational background includes a B.S.L.A. in Landscape Architecture and an M.A. in Education. David is the author of the book, Landscape Construction . David believes strongly in a hands-on approach to instruction as his preferred method to prepare students for future careers.
