CLASS NEWS
PLANTING PROJECT
If you are interested in brushing up your planting skills (or completing
those last few Hort 80 hours), Thursday June 17th from 9 - 11 AM the 52C
class will be installing over 200 1 and 5 gallon shrubs and perennials for
the Krause Center for Innovation. This is the round building across the
parking lot from Hort. We will also be mulching, fertilizing, and generally
sprucing up the site on Tuesday June 22 during the same time period. You
are welcome to join the fun on both days and to help us raise funds.
$10,000 is being donated to Horticulture by the KCI Foundation for doing
this project. Please bring your shovel!!!
Thanks, Dan and David

PLANT PICKUP
I am looking for two or three people who need Hort 80 hours and have access
to a truck to pickup some plants from Carman Nursery in Campbell. For those
of you who don't know Carman's, Ed Carman was a lifelong nursery operator
who passed away last year. His daughter, Nancy, has been operating the
nursery and has been cleaning out stock that she cannot move to Monterey
County. She has donated many plants in the past and has another pickup load
of primarily 1 gal plants she is willing to donate to Foothill. We have
benefitted from their generous donations in the past.
Any pickup can be arranged directly with Nancy. If you are interested
please reply to this email.
Thanks, David
